Had a lot of interesting chats recently about our milk and new customers coming in to try. One thing I’m not very good at is shouting about what we do, not a born salesman but our business has grown steadily over the years based on word of mouth.
Today I got a phone call from a lady who lives not too far away asking if our cows produce A2 milk as she had seen it on another post. She told me years ago she was able to buy it from a farm in England but they stopped doing it and then went onto buy A2 milk powder shipped from Australia as it was the only way she could get A2 milk and no other milk would agree with her.
So what exactly is A2 milk?
Sheep, goats and even humans produce milk with A2 beta-casein. Some traditional breeds of cows also produce A2 but the majority of cows produce milk with A1 beta-casein. All our cows have been bred to produce A2 milk.
So what? Well, if you’ve been told you have a milk allergy or lactose intolerance or milk/dairy just doesn’t agree with you it’s probably milk containing A1 beta-casein which is the problem. A2 milk has long been known to be better on your digestive system and has become very popular in Australia and some other countries.
I have met customers who haven’t drank milk for 10 years but found they can drink ours with no adverse effects. We also have customers who buy it for their children and have seen eczema clear up. It also seems that our ice cream is agreeing with people better which is made from our own milk and cream.
And our cows get an organic diet free of bovair.
